Day 1 - Pain in the butt

I'm in New York state at Brookside campground. Rode 694.8 miles in 15.5 hours... Details later...

While I'm taking shower and having camp dinner, enjoy this clip...

Update. Well, didn't go to bed until late last night, I guess I fell asleep right after midnight. Alarm was set at 3AM...

Had a quick bowl of oatmeal and coffee and took off about 10 min till 4AM...

At 5AM I was already crossing into Virginia... I went through Roxboro straight up through Charlotsville and jumped on I-81... I wanted avoid boring and so jammed I-95 with its traffic, especially through Richmond, Frederikdsburg, DC itself, Baltimore and what not...

Well, I-81 was full of tractor trailers. I guess it's one of main arteries connecting NY with Texas (does it go to Texas?)

Anyways, rode through VA, crossed into WV and MD (crossed both of them in 30 min) then came Pensi-freaking-lvania - it's big... It took majority of my time to reach Catskills (I'm here now, in these little hill country)... Damn mosquitos... I'm glad I didn't forget to take the repellent, but I did forget, to check the batteries in the light that goes on the brainless head... Now, I stuck regular flashlight in this rubber band... I'm the only one in this part of the campground so I'm not too much embarrassed...

At about noon I hit 90+F temps on interstate - its hot, well. The air was dry, so while you're riding, you pretty much drying out... Once you stop, you sweat and when you go again, the evaporation cools you down...

I think once I reached Ponoco I chaises up a rain front and was rising behind it in 68-72F air, like the smell of the air after rain in the woods...

Hmm... Riding in hot weather on interstate is not a good idea... for me... I get "asleep"... You realize it when all of the sudden wake up... So... a few of 5-hour energy drinks do their job... Plus a can of Monster to top it off...

I had only 30-40 min before dark, so excuse my quick short update... I don't how am I gonna sleep, something kwaking in the creek... Maybe a few shots of rum will shut them up...

Oh, seen many Amish people in PA and hairy braided Jew dressed in black in NY (don't remember how they are called) - cool...

When I was signing in at the campground, of course I was gone thorough the amenities and stuff... The lady said that I can enjoy the pool and game room on which I said I just need a shower and a spot far from other people, especially screaming kids...
She then said that the shower takes quarters and if I need any... On my question how long water runs on one quarter, she said about 7-7.5 minutes... Got 2 dollars worth of quarters - used one quarter... I was told toilet is for free.. I didn't check it yet... Hey, I got the creek for myself...

Oh... The Triumph... The bike performed very well, i can tell you, Cruise Control is the feature that needs to be on any touring bike... Once set, you can relax, rest your hands and... take a nap... The ride-by-wire throttle performs excellent... I have the bike loaded to my ears, but the 135 hourse powers and very smooth power delivery in any gears pulls the bike like an electric locomotive...

One negative thing is still the seat, I don't know, it's softer than the seat on my previous bike, it leans down to the front so you always seat on your cojones, excuse my French, but when slide forward your butt is comfortable but your posture like on a stool... About mid day when I started sliding left and right, stand up and stretch my legs... May be its not the ergonomics of the seat but the anatomy of my "behind"

Good night...
